How DASF Can Help

DASF is always receptive to helping people and pets in Denton. We will try to assist you if it is possible and within the limits of the foundation’s funding and resources.

Note: DASF is not a rescue group and does not operate the City of Denton Animal Shelter.

We do not handle any pets, and are not involved with the management of the shelter. If you have questions for the Linda McNatt Animal Care & Adoption Center or inquiries about shelter animals, please call (940) 349-7594 or email Animal.Services@cityofdenton.com.

  • DASF funds the Emergency Pet Food Pantry at the Linda McNatt Animal Care & Adoption Center. Other pet food assistance resources are available here.

  • Low-cost spay, neuter, vaccine, and dental pet services are available at the Texas Coalition for Animal Protection (TCAP) Veterinary Clinics (click here for locations). If you live in Denton County and cannot afford these services, you can email us for possible additional assistance.

  • DASF sponsors free pet rabies shots at several annual vaccine clinics. See our Event Calendar for upcoming dates and locations.

  • We understand the high cost of emergency veterinary treatment and appreciate pet owners who want to provide every possible opportunity for their pets to recover. Unfortunately, DASF does not have the funding to help every Denton County pet owner who may need assistance. However, we do have other resources listed on our website for financial assistance.

At this time, DASF is unable to accept requests for emergency veterinary expenses due to lack of funding, except through our partner agencies such as Denton County Veterans Services, Our Daily Bread/Denton Homeless Shelter, and/or local veterinarian clinics.
